John D. Van Meter, one of the mad scientists who created the Purple Appendage gives us some resort trivia!
The Contemporary, by the way, was Disney World's first on-site hotel (well, that and the Polynesian -- they opened at the same time). It is situated next to the Magic Kingdom, and the monorail goes right through it!
